Over 200,00 people invited to tell their stories from over 200 years of history turned into a performance for 5 days on Southend Pier, don’t miss it!
CTWOW is proud to announce this People’s Theatrical Consultation to decide the fate of Southend’s Most Famous Icon – Southend Pier.
We invite you to take part in a new and unique play about the people of Southend-on-Sea City on 19th-23rd September 2023 on the land end of Southend Pier. CTWOW will propose some fresh ideas on what could be done to reinvigorate the fate of Southend and its Pier by rediscovering how many times the Pier has reinvented itself.
Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Southend Community Fund and Leigh Town Council and produced by local not for profit company, Blade Education, CTWOW wants to delight, shock and surprise audiences into recognising that it is time that we stepped out into the light and became the place we all want to live and thrive.
Tickets are £15 for Adults and £10 for Concessions and Children. For every ticket that is purchased, organisers Blade Education are giving away tickets to people and organisations who are being impacted by the cost-of-living crisis. We want everyone who wants to come and join this performance to have the opportunity as far as capacity levels will allow. If you can’t afford the ticket price, just email contact@ctwow.org.uk and talk to the team.
The City that Walks on Water is a play that is performed in the Open Air on the Upper Deck of Southend Pier, at the Land End. This is a Promenade Play where after an Opening Scene with the whole cast and audience, the audience is split into groups and moves between each scene, rather than sitting down and watching the whole play. The expectation is for the audience to be standing and moving throughout the performance, however if you wish to bring a camp chair with you, please feel free to do so.
